Celebrating a year of Rally’s energy, unity and impact

In celebration of the 2025 International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, we introduced the world to Rally, ChildFund Rugby’s newest team member.

One year on, Rally has become far more than a mascot.

Rally is a symbol of connection, a spark of energy, and a joyful reminder of what rugby can achieve when communities come together.

More than a mascot

Born from the energy of the game, Rally represents the very best of rugby’s values: integrity, passion, solidarity, discipline and respect.

Created in a moment where players, fans and communities united, Rally carries that same spirit into every interaction. With a signature joyful spin and thunderous clap, Rally ignites the Unity Spark, celebrating the moments that matter most. The small acts of courage, the first steps into leadership, and the connections that bring people together through sport.

Over the past year, Rally has been there to support it all. From community pitches to global stages, Rally has helped amplify the voices, stories and impact of young people using rugby to build safer, more inclusive communities.

Celebrating impact - powered by rugby

Rally’s first year has unfolded alongside one of the most significant periods of impact for ChildFund Rugby.

Through the momentum of the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 and the strength of global partnerships, the rugby community came together to raise more than £230,000 to support children and young people worldwide.

This collective effort has already translated into tangible, measurable impact across:

• 32 Grassroots to Global Forums delivered, engaging 1,028 female leaders across 29 countries
• 74 participants from 34 countries connected at Grassroots to Global Connect 2025
• 11,308 Pass It Back rugby and life skills sessions delivered globally
• 5,880 young people reached, with 54% female participation
• 334 coaches accredited globally, with 55% female representation

Through initiatives like Grassroots to Global, voices from across the rugby ecosystem have been brought together to shape a more inclusive future for the game, strengthening leadership pathways and creating new opportunities for women and girls.

At the same time, Pass It Back continues to deliver impact at community level, equipping young people with life skills, confidence and leadership opportunities through rugby.

“Rally has brought an incredible sense of energy and connection to our work over the past year. What started as a creative idea has grown into a powerful symbol of unity across our global rugby community,” ChildFund Rugby Co-Director Megan Knight reflected on Rally’s first year.
